I have travelled New Zealand as  Psychic for over 30 years and have met many people and also connected with their guides. During a reading both my spirit guides and the clients come forwards to share information with me. But I do love empowering people to connect with their own guides as well.

What are Spirit Guides? How can  Spirit Guide Readings help?

I started these spirit guide readings to help people to connect with their own guides. Knowing a little about them often makes it much easier to really connect with our guides.

Spirit Guides: Who they Are, What they do and how to Connect With Them

Have you ever had a strong feeling that you should do something, even though you could not really explain why? Perhaps you suddenly thought about someone, and then they contacted you, or you kept seeing the same sign or symbol at a time when you were looking for an answer.
I believe these moments can sometimes be connected with our spirit guides.
Spirit guides are spiritual beings who work with us throughout our lifetime. They are there to guide, encourage and support us as we move through our lives, and they can help us understand our path and the experiences we have chosen to have.
I do not see our spirit guides as people who control what happens to us. We still have free will, and we make our own choices. Instead, I feel they work quietly in the background, helping us recognise opportunities, guiding us towards people and experiences that can help us grow and reminding us of who we really are.

What are Spirit Guides to us?

Before we come into this lifetime, I believe our soul has an understanding of the experiences we are going to have and the things we want to learn.
This is sometimes called a soul agreement or soul contract.
We do not consciously remember making this agreement because we are coming into a physical lifetime and experiencing life as a human being. But at a soul level, there is an understanding of the direction we are taking and the experiences that may be important for our growth.

Our spirit guides are part of this.

There is an understanding between our soul and the guides who will work with us. They know something about our soul path and the lessons and experiences we have chosen.
This does not mean that everything in our life is already decided.

I believe we have free will, and our choices can change the direction our life takes. There can be many different paths available to us.

Our guides are there to help us navigate those choices.

What do Spirit Guides actually do?

I am often asked what spirit guides actually do and why we need them.
I feel their role is very much about support and guidance.
They can help us when we are going through difficult periods and encourage us when we are losing confidence in ourselves.
They can also help us recognise opportunities that are right for us.
Sometimes a guide will encourage you to take a chance on something that you might normally be afraid of. At other times, they may give you a strong feeling that something is not right for you.
They can help you develop your natural gifts and talents and encourage you towards your life purpose.
They may also bring certain people into your life because that person has something important to teach you or because you have something to learn from the relationship.

Do our Spirit guides Run our lives?

Your spirit guides do not make your decisions for you
This is important. And something I point out in my spirit guide readings
Your spirit guides can guide you, but they cannot make your choices for you.
If you are offered a new job, for example, your guides may give you signs that it is a good opportunity. But you still have to decide whether you want to take it.
If you are in a relationship that does not feel right, you may receive signs and intuitive feelings encouraging you to look more closely at what is happening. But you still have free will.

Sometimes we know what our intuition is telling us, but we choose not to listen.

I have done this myself at times, as I think most of us have.
We can know deep down that something is right or wrong for us, but because we are emotionally involved or frightened of making a change, we can choose to ignore that feeling.
Our guides do not become angry with us when we do this. They are unconditional and not judgemental at all.

How do Spirit Guides Communicate with us? Can  Spirit Guide Reading Help?

In my spirit guide readings, I include a message from your life or main guide to start the process.

Spirit guides can communicate in many different ways, and it is not always obvious that this is what is happening.
For some people, it can be a strong intuitive feeling.
You may suddenly know that you need to contact someone or that you should not go somewhere.

You may have a thought that comes into your mind very clearly and feels different from your normal thinking.
For other people, guidance can come through dreams.
You may dream about someone who has passed away, a particular place or a situation that seems to have a deeper meaning.
You may also notice repeated signs.
Perhaps you keep seeing a particular number sequence like 2222, animal, word or symbol.

How can you connect with your Spirit Guides?

My spirit guide readings are a bit like a door. They give you a start to help you to connect with your guides.

I think everyone can develop their own connection with them. During a spirit guide reading, I try to open that door for people. To give them someone to focus on and to connect with,
The first thing is to become a little quieter.
Our lives are so busy that we can easily miss the quieter thoughts and feelings that come through.
Find somewhere peaceful where you will not be interrupted. Sit quietly for a few minutes and simply ask your guides to come closer and make their presence known to you in a way that you can understand.

You do not need to make it complicated.
You could simply say:
“My guides, please help me to recognise your guidance and understand the signs you are giving me.”
Then sit quietly for a while. You may not see anything immediately. That does not mean nothing is happening. Your connection may develop slowly.

Yes, I believe most guides have experienced life on Earth.

They have been teachers, healers, spiritual people or someone who had particular knowledge that is relevant to your life. You can also have guides who have not lived a human lifetime.

There is no reason for every guide to look or feel the same. Your guides are individuals in their own right, and they can have very different personalities. Some can feel serious and quiet. Others can have a wonderful sense of humour.

I have found that a guide coming through in a reading has a very distinctive personality, and I describe that too in spirit guide readings.
